Storytime: The Dream Assignment

What you are about to read is completely true and really happened to me.

“Are you ok?” He asked me.

“Let me know if you need me to explain anything further…”

I was completely mortified, I sank deeper into my chair. If I was white, you would have seen my face flush red - my cheeks were hot.

I was sitting in FM212 Principles of Finance class at the London School of Economics. I’d elected to take this class because I wanted a career in finance but my degree was actually in management… something way less mathematically taxing than this class.

I was smart - but not quadratic equations smart. And when you study finance at this level, turns out it’s basically just advanced mathematics.

The teacher could see I was struggling and had singled me out with that question.  He wasn’t trying to embarrass me, he was concerned because I looked confused. I was also the only Black woman - a minority in a class where there weren’t even any white people, just Asian. Out of place doesn’t even cover it. I was also out of my depth.

I said I was fine and he moved on. But I was not fine. I could not afford to fail this class and tank my average. I actually needed to pass with flying colours so I could get my dream job and finally get me and my mother out of poverty.

When it came to the end of the year, I wasn’t sure if I really understood much of anything. I was barely keeping my head above water so trying to study for the exam was a conundrum.

But I was a spiritual girly and I PRAYED and I fasted and I asked God to help me manifest a miracle. And then I fell asleep.

While I was sleeping I saw a vision of a particular homework assignment we had been given earlier in the year.

It was one that had the whole class flummoxed. I don’t remember the details now but I do remember that it was a multi part scenario and the teacher had to spend an entire class dissecting it. And after the class I still didn’t get it.

But in the dream I was told to put that assignment “on my head”. It’s a phrase my Nigerian mother used to say when you just needed to remember something even if you didn’t understand it.

So I woke up and I studied that assignment back to front. I memorised the steps to answer the question even though I did not understand what I was reading.

A few weeks later, it’s exam time and almost half the paper is one question. The question is the exact homework assignment just with different numbers.

I’m sure I could be heard audibly as I gasped a sigh of relief that I was not going to fail this paper.

And I didn’t fail. I scored 88/100 - I came close to the top of the class! I eventually graduated with a first class degree and an academic prize, and that class - which was THE hardest - was one of the classes that put me over the top.

Why am I telling you this story? Because this is what spiritual manifestation looks like. This is not about reprogramming your subconscious mind.

It is about working with God/Universe/Source to get things that ordinarily should not be possible. This is not linear manifestation. This is not “maximising your potential” and rearranging what already exists and calling it manifesting.

There is nothing wrong with that - it’s just not what I’m talking about.

This is pulling from something beyond yourself to create success beyond logic.

If you are an entrepreneur which is absolutely a spiritual calling - you are being asked to pull things into existence that do not exist. You need spirituality to do that.

If you want to play in that space and learn how to go beyond the limits of your own mind, join me in my newest offer The Manifest Results VIP Day.
